Department of Posts is conducting a direct recruitment drive for PA/SA in 22 Postal Circles in the Country.
In Uttarakhand Circle, vacancies of Postal Assistant in Post Office (PAPO), Sorting Assistant in Railway Mail Service (SARMS), Postal Assistant in Saving Bank Control Organization (PASBCO) and Postal Assistant in Circle and Regional Offices (PA CO/RO) are listed in the recruitment drive.

Pay Scale: Rs 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay Rs 2400 + Admissible Allowances
Candidates should have passed in 10+2 standard from recognized board with english as compulsory subject. Applicants should have studied in local language of state or in Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation level.
Age Limit:
18-27 years as on 27-03-2014, for General category candidates and permissible relaxation of upper age limit as per Government of India for other categories.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be selected through Aptitude Test (Paper – I) and a Computer / Typing Test (Paper – II).
Aptitude Test (Paper – I) : 100 questions containing 100 marks will be asked in in four Parts A,B,C and D covering various topics/subjects. There will be no negative marking and duration will be 2 hours.

| Part B | 25 Questions on Mathematics of matriculation standard (25 Marks) Questions on Number system, Simplification, decimals, corrections, simple and compound interests, percentage, average, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, Time & Work & Distance etc. |
| Part C | 25 Questions on English (25 Marks) Questions on Grammer (prepositions, adverbs, conjuction, direct/indirect speech, singular & plural, tenses, antonyms/synonyms etc) |
| Part D | 25 Questions on Reasoning and Analytical ability(25 Marks) |
Computer/Typing Test (Paper – II) : The complete computer/typing test will be held in two stage : 15 minutes for typing and 15 minutes for data entry. The typing test will be conducted on computer key board consisting one passage of 450 words in English with minimum speed of 30 wpm or one passage of 375 words in Hindi with minimum speed of 25 wpm. Candidates have to secure prescribed qualifying marks in this test.

Registration Fee: Rs 100/- for all categories
Examination Fee: Rs 400/- for all male candidates of General and OBC category. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Physically Impaired/Women are exempted from payment of Examination Fee.

After paying the registration and examination fee at nearest e-payment Post Offices , candidates can check payment status after 3 days of payment of fee with Registration Number and Password generated at time of filling online application.
