Soon a new India Reserve Battalion will come up in Gairsain Chamoli Uttarakhand for which 900 Constables will be recruited.
India Reserve Battalion is neither a police nor para military force. IRB Police is a special armed force of a particular state. Introduced way back in 1971 by the then government at center to have an armed police force on the pattern of Central Para Military Force or CPMF.
Uttarakhand State Administration has announced the opening of a third battalion of IRB in Gairsain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand. The IRB’s Third Battalion, which will open in Gairsain, will recruit 900 Constables. This new IRB Police Battalion will help police in Gairsain to maintain Law & Order and Peace as Gairsain will now witness regular movement of VIPs & VVIPs since it is summer capital of Uttarakhand.
So far only two battalions of IRB (Indian Reserve Battalion) are present in Uttarakhand and now it has been decided to open the third battalion in summer capital Gairsain.
Along with this, five police lines of Uttarakhand will also be repaired. The dilapidated police lines of Pauri, Chamoli, Almora, Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi will be renovated. At the same time, helicopters are also being provided to the police during the disaster and in special circumstances as an air service so that in emergency situations, the police can reach the spot as soon as possible.
