Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun invites application for engaging Senior Research Fellow (Ecologist & Genetics) and Lab Technician for the Project entitled ‘‘Assessment of spatial and temporal occupancy of tiger and elephant in relation to habitat characteristics and anthropogenic factors for the creation of Eco-Sensitive Areas in Sawantwadi and Dodamarg Talukas of Sindhudurg district in Western Ghats of Maharashtra, India” purely on contractual basis for a period of 18 months. 2. Two years of experience in wildlife survey, knowledge of GIS, data analysis, report writing. |
| Desirable Qualification | Two years of experience in occupancy, population estimation, habitat quantification using different approaches. |

| Essential Qualification | 1. M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Wildlife Sciences / Forestry / Biotechnology / Animal Genetics / Environmental Science / Environment Management from a recognized University.
2. Two years of experience in DNA related techniques in identifying species and other genetic parameters from fecal matter, the collection of samples, wildlife survey, knowledge of GIS, data analysis, report writing. |

| Desirable Qualification | Lab Experience in DNA extraction, PCR amplification, electrophoresis and genetic data analysis. |
Selection of the candidates will be based on scrutiny of the document on 01st May 2019 at 10:00 AM followed by an Interview on the same day at 11:00 AM.
The candidate should report by 1000 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 01st May 2019 followed by an interview on the same day at 1100hrs. Candidate should bring the dully filled-in-application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications along with a certificate of research experience, extracurricular activities, date of birth, etc. All original documents/ certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.
