Latest Update : Total Staff Nurse Posts for recruitment in Uttarakhand increased to 2621 from 1238 of Health dept, adding 1383 of Medical Education dept.
Recruitment of staff nurses in Uttarakhand will be started soon in State Medical Colleges of the state. A proposal for 1383 posts has been sent to the UBTER by the Department of Medical Education. For the first time, Nurses are being appointed through direct recruitment in State Medical Colleges.
Nurses posts under Medical Education Department in Government Doon Medical College, Govt Medical College Haldwani, GMC Srinagar Garhwal and Almora Medical College have been vacant for a long time. Till now, Nurses from Health Department or from outsource have been doing the work in medical colleges.
Due to absence of Nursing Service Recruitment Manual in the state, there was no direct recruitment of staff nurses in medical colleges. Last year, the government implemented the Nursing Service Recruitment Rules. This opened the way for direct recruitment of Nurses in Medical Colleges of Uttarakhand.
The Department of Medical Education has sent a proposal to the Council of Technical Education for the direct recruitment of 1383 staff nurses in medical colleges of Uttarakhand. The council will soon start the application process for these posts. Currently the application process is going on for the recruitment of 1238 staff nurses in the health department through the UBTER.
