Indian Army has released notification for unmarried male and female LAW GRADUATES for grant of Short Service Commission (NT) in the Indian Army for 22nd Judge Advocate General Branch. The enrolment is for the course commencing in April 2019 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The applications for the enrolment should be received from 19 July to 16 August 2018.

The Indian Armed Forces are the federal military forces of the Republic of India. It consists of four professional uniformed services: the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard. The Indian Armed Forces are under the management of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), which is led by the Union Cabinet Minister of Defence. With strength of over 1.3 million active personnel, it is world’s 3rd largest military force and the largest standing volunteer army in the world.

Total No. of Post: 14 (Men-07, Women-07)

Educational Qualification

Minimum 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination). The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State. Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.

Age Limit

21 to 27 years as on 01 Jan 2019 (Born not earlier than 02 Jan 92 and not later than 01 Jan 98 both dates inclusive)

Note: The date of birth accepted by the office is that entered in the Matriculation or an equivalent examination certificate. No other document relating to age will be accepted and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

The candidates will be given a pay scale of Rs.56, 100 pm (Starting pay in Level 10).

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be shortlisted and cut-off percentage of marks for each discipline will be fixed by Integrated HQ of MoD (Army). Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cut-off percentage will be interviewed. Date of Interviews will be uploaded on the official website.

Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to register themselves online through the official website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. No other mode of application is acceptable. The submission of online application will be accepted till 16 August 2018.

Note: Documents to be carried to the Selection Centre by the candidate duly self-attested are as follows:

  • One copy of the Print out of application form duly signed and self-attested photograph affixed.
  • Copy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate and class X Marks Sheet.
  • Copy of 12th class certificate & marks sheet.
  • Copy of Graduation Degree/Provisional Degree (in case of 3 years LLB after graduation).
  • Copy of LLB Degree/Provisional Degree.
  • Copy of Marks sheets of all years/Semesters.
  • Copy of registration with Bar Council of India/State OR Certificate from college/University that the LLB Course in the said institution is recognized by Bar Council of India.
  • Certificate issued by the University regarding formulae for conversation of CGPA/Grades into marks followed by the University.
