Indian Air Force has invited applications from Indian citizen candidates to join Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers for different courses commencing in January 2021 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical Branches) Branches. Online applications are invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme and Meteorology Branch.
The Indian Air Force is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II.

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age is also ineligible.
All applicants whose applications are submitted by the due date will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for the technical branch). The AFCAT will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT/EKT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs).
Desirous candidates can apply online through the official website www.careerairforce.nic.in or www.afcat.cdac.in from 01 December to 30 December 2019. Submission of more than one application will result in cancellation of candidature. The duration of training for Flying and Technical Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments. PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).
