The poor candidates of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC / ST) of the state will be given free coaching of competitive examinations by the Government. For this, the process of selection of educational institutions has been completed. This year, 300 candidates have been planned to give free coaching. Coaching period will be five months.
According to Vinod Goswami, Director of Social Welfare Department, candidates will be prepared for IAS, PCS and state level competitive examinations. For this, applications of 11 institutions have come from Haldwani, Haridwar, Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar including other districts. Their proposal has been sent to the Government. This year, 300 candidates have been planned to give free coaching Candidates will be selected on First Come, First Serve Basis. For this, the official notification will be released in the month of June. This time, the amount of coaching will be paid to the institutions. For this scheme, the government will spend Rs.75 lakhs.
The government had started this scheme about 03 years ago. At that time no candidate was unable to pass the examination of IAS or PCS. After this, there were allegations on the government for not selecting good institutions and allegations of corruption. After this, the government had stopped the scheme. Now the government has started the scheme in a new way.
