Finally the wait is over. The way for recruitment of 236 posts of VPDO has been cleared by the State Government. Since there is a confusion on the recruitment rules, Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Commission (UKSSSC) was unable to start the recruitment process for Gram Panchayat Vikas Adhikari (VPDO). Now the cabinet changes the eligibility rule and allowed the art graduates to apply for the post. So the commission will soon start the recruitment process for vacant posts.
Panchayati Raj Department had ordered Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) to start the recruitment process for 236 posts of VPDO long ago. But in the meantime, the commission started the process of changing the eligibility rules of VPDO, Due to which commission had to stop the recruitment process. Now the state cabinet changes the recruitment rules on Wednesday and given green signal to art graduates to apply for the post. So the commission will start the recruitment process from next month.
According to Santosh Badoni, Secretary of the Board, the department will start the application process after getting the official notification from the cabinet about changes in the recruitment rules. The application process for 160 vacancies of village development officer is going to start soon. The qualifications of the Village development officer (VDO) and the Gram Panchayat Development Officer (VPDO) have become different; therefore there will be separate applications for both.
