In the 21st board meeting of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UTDB), it was decided to fill 51 vacant posts in the tourism department. These posts will be filled through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission. Apart from this, due to the applicable lockdown due to Corona, it was decided to waive the prescribed fees of the operators of various assets operating on PPP mode in the state from March 2020 to June 30, 2021. Under this, about Rs 61 lakh will be waived.
The 21st Board meeting of UTDB was held under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj at EHM Auditorium. The Tourism Minister said that with the aim of doubling the number of tourists visiting Uttarakhand, the department actively participates in major travel events like International Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF).
Apart from this, winter carnivals are to be organized at many places including Nainital, Bhimtal, Pangot, Mussoorie on behalf of Uttarakhand Tourism in collaboration with the district administration to promote winter tourism and adventure sports along with religious tourism.
Apart from this, Uttarakhand Water Sports Policy, Trekking Rules, Paramotor Rules are being prepared to control the activities of adventure tourism in the state, besides rafting and paramotor rules.
