More than 6.5 Lakh government jobs are vacant in different departments of the Central Government. Personnel Department Minister Jitendra Singh said in a written reply to the Parliament that according to a report by March 2018, 31.18 lakh out of 38.02 lakh government posts have been filled. Remaining 6.84 Lakh posts will be recruited in the next few months. All these vacancies are made for reasons such as retirement, death, promotion and they will be filled according to the rules of the concerned ministry, department, and organization. Jitendra Singh has also said that within one year, there is a plan to recruit more than 01 Lakh vacant posts. Apart from this, he has mentioned about the appointments of over 1.5 lakh posts in the Railways.
He said that during the year 2019 and 2020, the Employee Selection Commission (ESC) will organize the selection examination for filling 1, 03,266 vacant posts of different ministries. It is worth noting that till March 1, 2018, the report of the lack of jobs in the country was also made a political and electoral issue.
Out of about 01 Lakh approved posts in the various wings of the Central Armed Police force (CAPF), 84000 posts are vacant. The government will soon take a big step to restore these posts. In response to a written question in the Lok Sabha, the Home Ministry had given this information. It was told that vacancies are increasing due to retirement, voluntary retirement, and martyrdom. Under the Central Armed Police Force, these vacancies are in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibet Border Force (ITBP) and Assam Rifles. In the previous government, Union Home Minister Kiran Rijiju also gave this information in the Rajya Sabha.
