There has been no recruitment of group C for almost one and a half years in Uttarakhand. Since October 2017, no recruitment process of Group C has been started in the state. There is no hope of recruitment even before July. This is the case even though the number of unemployed youths registered in the state has reached 9 lakh. The last recruitment process was done by Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission, the biggest hope of unemployed youth is, in October 2017 for the post of teachers in Primitive Welfare Department and for the post of Forest Guard. Since this recruitment, no application has been sought from the selection commission.
However, in the meantime, the Commission had applications to start the recruitment process in more than 1000 posts of different department. But in December 2018, the commission had to stop the recruitment process after the abatement of the employment registration for Group C posts was canceled and shortly after this, the new rule of economic-based reservation was implemented, so the recruitment process was delayed. Now the Department of Personnel has released the format of the new economic-based reservation. Now the department will fix the rules of reservation in the new format and send a proposal to the commission, after which there will be new forms coming up till July.
It is decided that the first recruitment in the state will now be of Assistant Teacher (LT). The Education Department has sent the final recruitment proposal to the commission after dividing all the 1100 posts in all type of reservation. According to the Secretary of the Board, Santosh Badoni, after completing the job of making certificates of general candidates according to new reservation rule, the recruitment process of LT exam will be started.
On the question of delays in the recruitment process, Secretary Santosh Badoni said that in the last two years, the Commission has conducted 42 different examinations, which were pending for many years. In the same backlog, 22 types of exams will be completed in the next three months. For this reason, the main focus of the commission was to complete the old backlog vacancies, which have now been completed. Now the recruitment process for all posts from this year will be completed within one year.
