For direct recruitment of posts of Group ‘C’ category, the Uttarakhand government has given priority to the youth of the state by setting new mandatory qualifications. Candidates seeking high school, Intermediate and equivalent higher education from the accredited educational institutions of Uttarakhand will be eligible to apply only. The State Migrant Commission also recommended priorities of the permanent residents of the state in direct recruitment posts. The Cabinet has approved the Mandatory Amendment Rules of Group ‘C’ posts.

Candidates passed 10th & 12th from Uttarakhand, are only eligible to Apply

In 2010, the Department of Personnel had made a provision for all the candidates applying for the post of Group ‘C’ to register in the Employment Office.  But in the December 2018, the High Court ordered the termination of the mandatory registration obligation in the Employment Office for group ‘C’ posts. To give priority to the unemployed youth of the state in the direct recruitment, recruitment rules of several states had been studied.  The State Migrating Commission was consulted in this regard. The Commission recommended that all rural areas of the state are migrating. Therefore, in the direct recruitment of the Group ‘C’ posts, the people of rural areas preferred to give priority. The Migrating commission argued that due to the lack of facilities and weak economic conditions in rural areas, young competitors are unable to prepare for examinations. Youth are fleeing for livelihood and employment. Given this, the government has given priority to the youth of the state in direct recruitment of Group ‘C’ posts. On Wednesday, the Cabinet gave its nod to amend the compulsory qualification rules.

Eligibility for the Group C Post

Candidates who passed Highschool, Intermediate and relevant education qualification from Uttarakhand are only eligible to Apply for the Group ‘C’ Post. At the same time, personnel employed in the Army, the Armed Forces and in the state government or in any government, semi-governmental body established under regular posts and employees in Central Government and Central Public Sector employees in Uttarakhand, whose services are not transferred outside the state Such personnel and their sons and daughters may be considered eligible for application at Group C posts.
