There is good news for the youth of the state who dreams of becoming a teacher. Candidates will now be able to apply for the post of teachers till the age of 42. The Uttarakhand Special Subordinate Education Service Rules are being amended. After its proposal in the cabinet, work on it has started by the government. The revised rules will be released soon.
The service manual for Assistant Teacher (LT) and Lecturer posts are being revised by the Department of Education. The National Cadet Corps C certificate has also been included for preferential qualification in the Lecturer Services Manual whereas before that only B certificate of NCC was included. At the same time, the maximum age limit for the post of Lecturer has been increased from 35 years to now 42 years. Apart from this, the number of vacancies reserved and direct recruitment for the economically weaker sections will be sent soon by the department to the Commission.
For the post of Hindi Lecturer, the compulsory examination of Shastri Degree from Sanskrit University Varanasi is now has been expelled. Now candidates having Graduate Degree in Sanskrit subject or Degree in Shastri from a university established by law in the country will also be able to apply for the post of Hindi Lecturer. Apart from this, persons with disabilities in the identified categories will not be denied appointment as per rules. According to Joint Secretary, Education Kavindra Singh, Service Manual of Assistant Teacher (LT) and Lecturer are being revised.
