Youth may have to apply again for the recruitment of nurses in more than 2600 vacant posts in government hospitals of Uttarakhand. The government had sought the opinion of the Medical Selection Board in this regard. The board has suggested to get the application process done again. The government has to take the final decision in this regard. Also Health and Medical Department is also preparation to change the recruitment manual for the Staff Nurses recruitment in Uttarakhand. The proposal may come in next cabinet meeting. Some time ago, instead of conducting the Nursing Recruitment Examination from the UBTER, the government had decided to conduct it from the UKMSSB. The recruitment of 2621 Staff Nurses is being stuck due to this.
More than 12000 youth had applied for this recruitment in the Council of Technical Education. Medical Selection Board Chairman Dr. DS Rawat refused to comment in this regard. He said that the board has told its point even to the government. At the same time, sources in the government said that if the government re-apply for nursing recruitment, then the fees for the application made in the Council of Technical Education will be returned to the youth.
The main reason for the delay in the nurses recruitment examination is the change in the rules from the government side in between. When would the nurses have been recruited yet if the government had not decided to change the recruitment agency earlier. About two years ago, the government had decided to recruit nurses through the Medical Selection Board. By the time the board finalized the preparations for the recruitment, the government decided to change the recruitment agency and conduct the examination from the Council of Technical Education. Due to this decision the examination got delayed and till date this examination has not been conducted.
