The Staff Selection Commission has released notification for the recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’. SSC invites application from the eligible candidates for a Combined Examination to recruit Stenographers. Candidates can apply till 27 June 2014.
Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade C : 38 (UR – 27 ,SC – 1 ,ST – 0 6 ,OBC – 4 , OH – 1, VH – Nil, Ex-Servicemen – Nil)
Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade D : 496 (UR – 300 , SC – 62 ,ST – 33 .OBC – 1 01,OH – 11, VH – 02 ,Ex-Servicemen – 19)
Age Limit : 18 -27 years as 01 August 2014
Pay Scale for Stenographers Grade C : Rs.9300-34800 + GP 4200/- (Pay Band 2)
Pay Scale for Stenographers Grade D : 5200-20200 + GP 2400/- (Pay Band 1)
Application Fee : Rs 100/- payable through CRF Stamps for off-line application or SBI Challan or on line payment through SBI in the case of on-line application
Candidate must have passed Class 12 from recognized board or University.
Candidates will be selected on the merit basis of written objective type examination followed by Skill Test in Stenography at 100 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ &’D’ respectively.

Time duration : 2 Hours 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon
Skill Test in Stenography
The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenogr apher Grade D. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only . The transcription time is as follows: –
For Stenographer Grade D : 50 minutes (English) & 65 minutes (Hindi)
For Stenographer Grade C : 40 minutes (English) & 55 minutes (Hindi)
