How To Become A Fashion Designer

To pursue a career in the field of fashion, one can aspire for diploma, certificate, graduate and post graduate level courses after intermediate. These courses can be in the field of Accessory or fashion designing, Apparel marketing and Merchandising, Garment Manufacturing Technology, Leather Design and Technology and Garment Design and Technology, Knitwear Design and Technology, Textile Design and Development, Fashion Journalism and Presentation. While 10+2 as cut off qualification is sufficient for Accessory designing and Fashion Designing, other courses prefer graduation as minimum eligibility criteria. For an Undergraduate course 10+2 with 50% marks is required and for a Post Graduate course graduation is a must.

A trainee designers on an average gets a stipend of around INR.10,000. With experience and well groomed knowledge, a designer can soon look forward to INR 30,000-40,000 a month. And of course, after earning a well deserved reputation in the industry, sky is the limit.
