Survey of India (Dept. of Science & Technology) has released advertisement for various recruitment of Topo Trainee Type ‘A’ in Survey of India at the GDC’s/Directorate/Offices. A total of 118 posts of Topo Trainee Type ‘A’ are to be filled up from eligible Indian nationals.
The Survey of India is India’s central engineering agency in charge of mapping and surveying. Survey of India publishes maps and the unrestricted category maps can be obtained at very reasonable prices from its several Geo-spatial data centers. Restricted category maps require due approval from government authorities. Many other rules govern the sale and use of Survey of India maps. Only an Indian citizen may purchase topographic maps and these may not be exported from India for any reason.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200 + 1900 Grade Pay together with DA and other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees during the period of training which is normally about 2 years. On successful completion of training they will be fixed in the scale of F 9300-34800 + 4200 Grade Pay plus DA and other allowances.
Age limit : 18 to 27 yrs
Candidates must have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics from a recognized University. The candidates must have good stereoscopic vision. The candidates possessing less than 45% for General Category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC in B.Sc. examination need not apply.
Applications completed in all respects alongwith attested copies of certificates, mark sheets and testimonials duly signed and filled in the format given below should reach the Director of the concerned Geo-Spatial Data Centre/ Directorate/Offices on or before 21-02-2015. The applications received after the mentioned date will be summarily rejected.
Selection will be based on written tests in Mathematics, English, General Knowledge with Science to be held at the above Centers under overall supervision of requisitioning authority. Stereoscopic Fusion Test and personal interview will be conducted only in respect of those candidates who qualify the written test. The concerned Appointing Authority reserves the right to limit the number of candidates to be called for the interview by finding an appropriate cut off percentage of marks obtained by them in written test.
