Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released notification of Common Higher Secondary Level (10+2) examination for 2016. A written exam will be conducted for selecting candidates for filling up posts of Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operators, Court Clerk and Lower Divisional Clerks in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations.

Educational Qualification

Candidate should have passed 12th examination from a recognised board.

Age Limit :18-27 years as on 01.01.2017

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in written exam and skill test. The Examination will be conducted in two tiers as indicated below :

Tier -I : Objective Multiple Choice Type

Tier-II : Descriptive Type

It will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode The duration of the paper would be for one hour (20 minutes compensatory time will also be provided to the candidates mentioned in Para 7 above). This paper has been introduced to assess the writing skills of the candidates which is necessary in Government jobs. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter / Application writing of approximately 150-200 words.

Tier-III : Skill Test / Typing Test

Tier-III of the Examination would continue to be the Skill Test / Typing Test which would be of a qualifying nature. Skill Test / Typing Test would be in consonance with the provisions contained in para 12.2 and 12.3 given below.

How to Apply

Desirous candidates can apply through online as well as off-line mode on the official website www.ssc.nic.in.

Fee – Candidates are required to submit Rs. 100/- only as the fee. All Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee.
