Modi government is going to offer 2 Lac 20 thousand (2,20,000) govt jobs in two years. Accordiing to Ministry of Personnel, there are more than 6 Lac vacant position various departments.
The reason for this huge recruitment is that many departments facing lack of employees. Since many years there have been no new recruitment in these departments.
As per 2016-17 budget, on 1 March 2015 there are total 33,05,000 centre government employees which has risen to 34,93,000 in 2016.These numbers includes railway personnel and excludes defence personnel. There is no increase in railway personnel from 13,26,437 for the past three years.
This is a good news for all those candidates, who are searching govt job or waiting for govt jobs. Now centre is going to fill around 2 lac post in various department. In every department of centre there are thousand of posts are vacant, according to the stats in police department there are 47,264 post are vacant.

Cabinet Secretariate has to fill 301 vacancies, whereas Information & Broadcasting Ministry has filled 2200 vacancies in past two years.
There have been 1800 vacancies filled in Ministry of Personnel, 6000 in Urban Development Ministry, 4399 in Mining Ministry and 1000 in Department of Space.
